Welcome to The PR Edit’s Page Turners, a monthly feature featuring all books we read the previous month and what we are stacking our TBR with for the weeks ahead. As two bookworms we believe reading is not a competition and there’s no wrong way to be a reader. We are constantly adding to our TBR stack and leafing through books from a bunch of genres. So if you’re looking for your next read or listen? Here’s what we’re currently diving into…
Sarah’s Pages
-Number of Books Read in March: 13 between physical books and the audio variety
-Favorite Book from the Month: I am going to scream it on the outside, from the rooftops that Screaming on the Inside by Jessica Grose changed my brain. It’s an interesting look at the state of American motherhood and, y’all, I feel SEEN. I have been recommending it to all my fave moms since I turned the last page. I also (finally) read One in a Millennial by Kate Kennedy and it was so fun and nostalgic and warmed me up like a freshly microwaved can of Chef Boyardee.
-One that was Underwhelming: March didn’t have any real duds for me!
-What’s on My April TBR: My library holds are a million miles long because travel baseball season means I’m lugging a book to every practice, game and tournament. I just started Through the Midnight Door by Katrina Monroe and so far it is SO good. I also am pumped to have holds on Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams, Society of Lies by Lauren Ling Brown, and Pony Confidential by Christina Lynch.
-Where to Keep Up with My Book Stack: I track my reads with The StoryGraph and have running library wishlists on ShopMy and Pinterest.
Molly’s Pages
-Number of Books Read in March: 6
-Favorite Book from the Month: Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity, by Peter Attia - it’s a bit of a scientific read, but SO many actionable tips. I had heard a lot of it from listening to his many podcast interviews, but having it all in one place like that and laid out in a cohesive order made a big difference. Highly recommend reading this book, especially the chapter on stability (The Gospel of Stability).
-One that was Underwhelming: I hate to say it, but it was The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. It just didn’t need to be a full book. I enjoyed it, though!
-What’s on My April TBR: I have a huge list on hold at the library at the moment, but one I’m kind of excited about is a dive back into Colleen Hoover - haven’t read anything of hers in a while, but I put Regretting You on my list for April.
-Where to Keep Up with My Book Stack: I pin ideas from Pinterest and track my progress toward my 100 books for 2025 on GoodReads (realizing it is VERY unlikely that I will make it all the way to 100, but who knows!?)
We are both always looking to stack our TBRs so tell us, what are you reading this month?
Speaking of reading…thanks for reading our words! We cannot thank our supporters enough and our work exists because of YOU. Please consider subscribing or sharing to keep the pages turning.
With my usual preference for the thriller-mystery-True crime genre, your recommendation for “Screaming on the Inside” has really opened my book eyes into similar themes! Also, that book could very well fall into a true crime category on the impact of motherhood 🥴🫢
